In late April 2002, Gerald Moran, then 75 and a member of the Catholic Church clergy, made his first appearance in Abbotsford Provincial Court to face 24 sex-related charges stemming from his involvement at two church-run Indian residential schools — St. Mary's in Mission, and Kamloops.
In the lead-up to Moran's trial, Kevin covered the court proceedings, then was invited to take part in multiple healing circles, held by victims from St. Mary's Residential School in the school itself.
